Home Book   Photos About Me

I am an award-winning broadcast journalist who was forced to step away from that profession one year after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998.  Details of my radio news career can be found here.

I used a wheelchair for four years and was severely disabled prior to taking the MS drug Tysabri in November of 2006.

I am a Patient Advocate for the drug company Biogen, which makes Tysabri. As a Patient Advocate I travel throughout the country speaking at various MS seminars.

I am now remarried. The wonderful Julie Schweers and I got married on August 20th, 2010.

I got married to Melinda in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 27th, 2003, but I lost her to suicide on June 2nd, 2006. Since Melinda's death I wrote and published a memoir entitled A Tear-Stained Letter; Surviving multiple sclerosis and my wife's suicide. A page on this site dedicated to her can be found here.
